Promising Prospects Lie Ahead for Indian Cloud Data Centers
The Indian cloud
market is soon about to witness a huge growth. This is because big companies
are all set to make huge investments for setting up data centers here. Some software giants
have also claimed that they have already begun to set up large scale cloud DCs
in major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad and Chennai.
Local DCs are
nothing but a bid by the banking and telecom industries to capture the Indian
market. These industries will specially be serviced because clients have time
and again faced issues to set up data sovereignty concerns.
For the records,
India is one of the fastest growing global marketplace as far as cloud technology is
concerned. This market has been witnessing considerable additions in thousands
with every passing month. No wonder global DCs here are hoping to scale up their
cloud offerings. After all, such highly enabled cloud DCs are capable to handle
tens of thousands of servers in a single region. This accounts for a massive
amount of compute which ultimately increases the scale as well as helps a data
center company to be all the more competitive.
India holds
tremendous potential to grow in the cloud industry. That is why leading cloud
players are keen to set up fully-fledged DCs in this part of the globe.
Funnily, just about a year back, the situation was quite different. Back then,
there were infrastructural issues which included limited bandwidth, unpredictable
power supply, unreliable optical fiber connectivity and patchy Internet
connectivity. But thankfully, today the situation is quite the opposite!
As a
result, the demand for cloud
technology services among the SMBs (small and medium sized businesses) has
grown. No wonder that service providers are ready to invest upon setting up
data centres in India. They plan to do so by setting up multiple sets of power
equipment alongside signed up multiple bandwidth providers so that more
reliability can be set in place within these new data centres.
